    **What is S*M*A*R*T

S*M*A*R*T was started in 1982 as a not-for-profit organization. Today the Special Military
Active Retired Travel Club is firmly established nation-wide and incorporated with the
National Headquarters in Pensacola, FL. This recreation vehicle oriented veterans’
organization is divided into 8 regions with over 2800 active members from all over the U.S.
including Canada & Hawaii. Also located throughout the U.S. are many Chapters that invite
affiliation. A bi-monthly magazine, The S*M*A*R*T Traveler, sent to each member, includes
information about National, Regional & Chapter activities.

During most weeks of the year there is at least one gathering (called a Muster) of
S*M*A*R*T chapters occurring in America. Members share camaraderie, information and
fellowship since all members are retired, reserve or active members of the armed forces.
S*M*A*R*T members use their recreational vehicles to “See the Country We Defend”
whether as Full-timers, weekender's, or weeklong travelers. New members are invited to
join this national organization and participate in one or more of the local and specialty
chapters. An annual muster, hosted in a different region each year, brings together
hundreds of “Rigs” for fun, educational seminars, and organizational meetings.
