Armed Forces Day picnic honoring wounded warriors at the site of the
future Warrior and Family Support Center on the campus of Brooke Army
Medical Center at Ft Sam Houston, TX. The Alamo Chapter has adopted
the Returning Heroes Home/Wounded Warriors Project. Alamo members
presented their first contribution of $1,000 to Returning Heroes Home board
member and former local radio personality Ms Eliza Sonneland shown
receiving the check from Alamo President Mary Ann Schlattman. Alamo
members raised the funds through donations, 60/40 drawings and silent
auctions at musters. In recent years, Alamo members have contributed
over $15,000 to veterans hospitals in San Antonio and Kerrville, TX and to
the Fisher Houses at Ft Sam Houston.
